Curriculum
Our Curriculum Framework
At Delhi Public School, Rishikesh, the curriculum is designed to build strong academic foundations while supporting the overall development of each child. Learning is structured, age-appropriate, and balanced, helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally at every stage of schooling. Classroom learning is supported by activities and experiences that promote understanding, responsibility, and confidence—preparing students for both examinations and life beyond the classroom.
CBSE Curriculum
The school follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) curriculum from Prep to Class XII. The CBSE framework emphasises conceptual understanding, skill development, and structured assessment. It ensures academic continuity, alignment with national standards, and a strong foundation for higher education and future academic pathways.
Early Years (Prep)
The early years programme follows a play-based and experiential approach to learning. Focus is placed on language development, early numeracy, motor skills, and social interaction. Activities are designed to encourage curiosity, exploration, and confidence, helping young learners transition smoothly into formal schooling in a supportive environment.
Primary School (Classes I–V)
At the primary level, the curriculum strengthens core foundations in languages, mathematics, and environmental studies. Students are encouraged to participate actively, ask questions, and connect classroom learning with everyday experiences. Alongside academics, creative activities and physical development are given equal importance to support balanced growth.
Middle School (Classes VI–VIII)
The middle school curriculum introduces greater subject depth and structured learning across sciences, mathematics, social sciences, languages, and technology. Emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding, organised thinking, and independent learning habits. Classroom discussions, activities, and assessments support clarity and consistent academic progress.
Secondary & Senior Secondary (Classes IX–XII)
At the secondary and senior secondary levels, the curriculum prepares students for CBSE board examinations while fostering academic discipline and goal setting. Subject options are offered in accordance with CBSE guidelines. Teaching focuses on conceptual clarity, application of knowledge, and exam readiness, supported by regular assessment and academic guidance.
Assessment & Academic Progress
Student learning is evaluated through a structured assessment system that includes classwork, assignments, projects, and examinations. Continuous feedback helps students understand their progress and areas for improvement, supporting steady academic development and readiness for each subsequent stage of learning.
Holistic Development
Alongside academics, the curriculum is complemented by co-curricular activities, life-skills programmes, sports, and value-based learning. These experiences help students develop confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and teamwork, contributing to well-rounded personal and social development.
